SANCTUM OF SOUND IS A MUSICAL FORUM FOR LISTENERS OF SACRED SOUND IN MAHALLA.
Curated and produced by the MaHalla team, Sanctum of Sound takes place on the first Sunday of every month, transforming MaHalla into a sanctuary of music and sound for 8 immersive hours. Dedicated to the art of creation and transmission, it offers a space for deep listening and sonic exploration.
The next edition unfolds on Sunday, May 3rd from 2 PM to 10 PM, featuring performances by Força do Sol, Temple Rat, The Allergorist and Vargkvint & Jacob Lindhagen.

2PM : Força do Sol
Sitting at the center of a custom-built, six-speaker surround setup, Kino Pinto invites the audience inside his guitar-driven solo project: Força do Sol.
In collaboration with Marshall, the project proposes a new way to experience music, where composition and performance happen simultaneously. Merging elements of ambient, experimental, and contemporary popular music, using the space as a compositional tool, and sending layers of sound across the room, Força do Sol offers an intimate and immersive alternative to traditional live concerts.

4PM : Vargkvint & Jakob Lindhagen
Swedish musicians Sofia Nystrand, known under the moniker Vargkvint, and Jakob Lindhagen, have for the past years constantly been blurring the definition of modern classical/ambient/experimental music, as well as the definitions of solo/duo/collaborative work.
Their respective music has been placed in several "Album of the Year"-lists, been streamed in the millions and their work commissioned for both Palme d'Or-nominated and Swedish Academy-awarded films. With an inventive approach to arrangement and instrument usage, their live-sets often combine a wide range of keyboard instruments with musical saw and home-built effect pedals. Having caught the attention of Nils Frahm, they have been invited to record two full-length albums in his renowned Berlin studio.

6PM : Temple Rat
Temple Rat is the alias of Berlin-based composer Yuxin Mei, a multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose sound is defined by the seamless fusion of traditional Chinese instrumentation and forward-thinking electronic production. Drawing from her deep roots as a classically trained musician and her immersion in the Berlin underground, she has carved a unique space in the contemporary scene.
In her artistic practice, Mei explores the relationship between space, environment, and sound. While the Erhu remains a central pillar of her work, her productions weave a rich tapestry of Chinese woodwinds, percussion, and traditional flutes. By utilising self-built sound-design tools and intricate field recordings, she crafts a distinctive sonic identity that leans on deep listening and experimental spatial-audio techniques.

8PM : The Allegorist
The Allegorist is a visionary, enigmatic, transmedia, and boundary-pushing artist known for crafting deep, immersive, and dark intricate sonic tales weaving together the mysteries, art, philosophy, symbolism, and spirituality.
The Allegorist sculpts experimental, cinematic, electronic music, visual art, and metaphorical narratives. Embracing the dualism of light and darkness, past and future, life and death, the art project adopted a holistic mindset, seeking to sail into the unknown, preserve the secret wisdom and timeless teachings, while honoring the ancient values of Earth, human responsibility, and the cycle of life.
For an inclusive expression, she crafted her fictional language Mondoneoh, employing symbolism as a method of universal communication.
With a background as a painter spanning over a decade before venturing into the realm of music, the Hungarian-born, Berlin-based artist Anna Jordan is her own creative director, producer, sound designer, singer, engineer, visual artist, and live performer.
