'Carpet Concert: Blue Lions & Music Ashram'

22ND FEBRUARY 2026

An intimate family-and-friends concert on the first floor of Mahalla with Kamal Roopsingh and members of the Music Ashram collective. From 4PM to 8PM, the afternoon unfolds through chants, mantras, and open jams — shifting between meditative repetition and spontaneous musical exchange.

Expect a warm, communal atmosphere: carpets on the floor, voices intertwining, rhythms building naturally, and space to listen and connect.

MaerzMusik Festival

MaerzMusik invites you into a shared listening space. This year’s edition unfolds like a living organism – part sanctuary, part laboratory – reflecting a time of uncertainty and possibility. Through its programme, the festival explores how sound can reshape how we live together, imagine alternatives, and rethink our understanding of the world.

Klangforum Wien opens the festival with Georg Friedrich Haas’s 11.000 Saiten — a monumental microtonal work for 50 pianos at MaHalla. The immersive installation rethinks the stage–audience relationship and challenges how, where, and what we define as music.

Over the past years at MaHalla, we’ve hosted fashion shows, presentations, exhibitions, balls, screenings, dinner parties, markets, film and photo productions, DJ acts & live concerts, meditation sessions, and so much more.

Inside MaHalla there are a total of nine different spaces available for all types of events – from small cozy gatherings to large-scale audio-visual productions.
