In Balance – auf Messers Schneide
Trust is one of the fundamental elements of human relationships—an invisible bond that connects people. It means opening up, relinquishing control, and hoping that this act of goodwill will not be exploited. Yet that is precisely where the risk lies: Those who trust make themselves vulnerable. Trust can provide support, but it can also be betrayed. It can sustain, but it can also shatter. This ambivalence makes trust a constant tightrope walk between security and insecurity, between closeness and fear. The performance “In Balance – On a Knife’s Edge” is performed on a steel column in which we explore the duality of trust and vulnerability. In our research we explored movement qualities through vertical dance, using architecture as an object and as a playground in the air, treating architecture as an object we engage with as a physical environment that shapes, challenges, and generates movement. The piece in performed by Iris Gonzales and Rixa Rottonara, supported by an electronic soundscape of Ish-KDG and live keys by Dariuz Voltra. “Can you let go, or will you maintain the balance?” Team: Concept/ Dramaturgy: Rixa Rottonara Choreography/ Performance: Iris Gonzales, Rixa Rottonara Soundscape: Ish-KDG Keys: Dariuz Voltra
