Ronan Courty is a French composer, improviser and double bassist working in experimental and improvised music. Trained in piano, double bass, composition and orchestral conducting before specialising in jazz and improvisation, he has developed a distinctive vocabulary centred on timbre and pulse. Using prepared double bass and analogue synthesis, he works in projects including Cabaret Contemporain and No Tongues and performs regularly across France and Europe.
