Elnara Nasirli is an artist rooted in environmental technology whose work explores biotechnology, nature and transformation through painting, sculpture, collage and installation. Her biomorphic environments combine organic and synthetic materials to create immersive worlds concerned with ecological awareness and human experience. At MaHalla, Nasirli has also collaborated with MXNZM on site-specific audiovisual installations, extending her practice through sound, spatial design and technological interaction.

Synth-ESYS (SE-01) Ecological Synthesis System: Berlin Node

TITLE

Synth-ESYS (SE-01)is a localized access point within a distributed network of ecological intelligence. Presented as a cross-section of a larger living infrastructure, the installation reveals one visible fragment of a transnational system extending across multiple geographies. SE-01 is imagined as the Berlin node of a growing constellation that includes SE-02 through SE-1195, and future units embedded within forests, landscapes, and archives around the world. Drawing from the communicative capacities of roots, mycelial systems, and plant bioelectrical activity, the work proposes an alternative model of information architecture—one in which knowledge is accumulated through interdependence rather than extraction. At the center of the installation, a technological root crown marks the point where biological and computational systems converge. From it, exposed conduits extend through the structure, animated by plant-derived datasets collected from living trees across the wider Synth-ESYS network. These are not real-time signals, but archived bioelectrical recordings gathered from forests in different locations. Through the custom-built Light Synth system, the recordings are translated into evolving compositions of light: pulses, rhythms, intensities, and flickering transmissions moving through the installation like traces of a distributed nervous system. SE-01 functions simultaneously as archive, transmitter, and interface. In response to human presence, hidden exchanges surface from the network, allowing visitors to encounter forest intelligence not as data stored about nature, but as memory carried through it. As part of a larger server infrastructure, Synth-ESYS envisions a future in which forests function as planetary knowledge systems. Distributed across continents yet interconnected through shared ecological memory, the SE network proposes an intelligence that exceeds national borders, technological platforms, and human timescales—an ancient, living cloud whose archives are continuously written by the earth itself.
